The Birthing of Lifeline Ministries
Lifeline Ministries Church was birthed out of a time of prayer and fasting, that the Holy Spirit led Pastor Pridegon on, in 1991. At the end of fasting and prayer, the Lord instructed Pastor Tim Pridegon to start a church.
The church was started in the home of Pastors Tim and Donna in May 1991. The congregation then moved to Jane Boyd Community House where the ministry began to grow. One Sunday the Lord gave Pastor Pridegon a word of prophecy that we would have a church building. In September 1991 the Lifeline moved into their first church building located at 800 G Avenue NW Cedar Rapids, IA. That was Lifeline's home for the next 17 years. The church experienced God's supernatural power in so many ways. Souls were saved, people filled with the baptism in the Holy Spirit, and the hungry were fed.
Faith in Adversity
In June of 2008 a massive flood hit the Cedar Rapids area and the church building took on over 10 ft of water. The building seemed to be utterly destroyed. To many it seemed this was to be the end of Lifeline Ministries’ existence. However, Pastors Tim and Donna remembered God's word from 2 Corinthians 4:8-9 "We are troubled on every side yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; Persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed." They held on to God's word in the face of extreme adversity.
During this time of transition, Pastors Tim and Donna still felt God's push for them to continue to preach the Word of God through ministry. They were not satisfied just sitting. They continued to pray and seek God. Lifeline continued to operate on a small-capacity with media ministry, and continued to be a blessing in the community. As time went on, fellow Christians from six states came alongside to help to support Lifeline in getting back on their feet.
Finding our Current Home
The Lord drew Pastor Pridegon’s attention to a church sitting on the corner of Oakland Road and J Avenue NE Cedar Rapids. Then another word of prophecy came to him while in worship, saying, “Your flock is growing, God has made you the repairer of the breach!”
The doors of opportunity opened and Pastors Tim and Donna walked through. So here we are today, 10 years later, in a new location 1101 Oakland Road Northeast and we are amazed at what the Lord has done in the past few years. God has accomplished so much for Lifeline Ministries. He's given us a church building that he has enabled us to remodel, along with putting in a parking lot and purchasing additional property. The Lord has saved souls, healed sick bodies, and fed the hungry all to the Glory of God!
